FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Choctawhatchee Bay extends from the 331 Bridge to Fort Walton Beach.  While you are on our pontoon rental boats you can visit many of the beautiful Bayous with exquisite homes in Santa Rosa Beach, Miramar Beach, Sandestin, Destin and Fort Walton Beach.

There are several restaurants located on the southside of the bay

• Lulu’s – located just east of the Mid-Bay Bridge
• The Bay – located just east of the 331 Bridge
• North Beach Social – located just west of the 331 Bridge 
• Baytowne Wharf – Several Restaurants but limited docking (Sandestin)
• Crab Island – Food vendors are located throughout (seasonal)
• Destin Harbor – Several Restaurants in the harbor

Working outdoors can be fun, but it is also a lot of work, especially in the hot sun every day. 

Although gratuities are not required, but they are greatly appreciated by our dock hands.

The law requires the driver of a boat born on or after January 1, of 1988 to have a boat license. If you were born prior to January 1, 1988 you don’t need a boat license but you must have a valid driver’s license. 

At Fletch Water Sports we require the person renting our boats to be 21 or older.

Many of our pontoon rental guests enjoy the fabulous and famous Crab Island.  Crab Island is a sand bar about 2-3 feet deep with crystal clear blue water.   Pontoon Rental boats drop anchor at Crab Island and play for the day. There are strong currents at the edges of Crab Island so we recommend anchoring inside of the island. 

Our luxury pontoon rental boats come equipped with a full tank of gas, a full-size cooler with ice, 2 heavy-duty float tubes to float on, a changing room, and all Coast Guard-approved safety equipment.

All Pontoon rentals come with a full-size cooler and ice.

The main reason for a boat not starting is because the battery died. Our boats come equipped with dual battery system. We will show you during our safety briefing how to switch to the backup battery if needed.

Don’t want to drive our pontoon rental boats.  We do not provide boat captains. However, there are many experienced licensed captains in the area who can be your captain for the day. If you hire a captain, you will be responsible for paying their fee and gratuity directly. They are counted in the maximum headcount/weight limit for the boat. Cancellation and Refund Policy

If check-in & paperwork is not completed properly by your departure time, we have the right to refuse service. We require you to check-in at least 20 – 30 minutes prior to your departure time. Our boats can only take a maximum of 12 passengers (regardless of age) or 1,600 pounds, whichever comes first.

No-shows or those who do not have a driver with the proper credentials and boat license will be charged for the full rental, and not be refunded. No Exceptions. We have to do this because there is a large demand for boat rentals in our area and reservations are made in advance.

Customers may cancel at least 48 hours prior to their arrival date and time to receive a full refund. Due to the high demand for boat rentals in our area Customers that cancel after the 48-hour period will not be eligible for a refund.

Customers may make changes to the reservation without any fees as long as it's outside the 48-hour cancellation period.

The person signing the rental agreement must be 21 and have a Valid Driver’s License, Cell Phone, a Valid Major Credit Card (for security deposit), and a current Boater's License if required by law. or your reservation may be cancelled.

All drivers must check in with one of our friendly staff 20-30 minutes before the scheduled departure, with a Valid Driver’s License, Cell Phone and a current Boater's license if required by law. All drivers must be present to be briefed & issued a wristband, otherwise they cannot drive.

If the weather is unfavorable for boating, the trip may be rescheduled for a later time/day or a full refund will be issued. If there is rain while you are on your trip & you are called back in early, the price will be prorated accordingly, as long as you check in with one staff at end of your trip.

Inclement Weather Policy

Our area is known for its short-lived rain showers. The weather forecast in different portions of Walton and Okaloosa Counties may be completely different. Remember that both counties extend from the Guld of Mexican to the Alabama boarder.

Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made due to rain or storms that occur while you are on the water, or storms in the forecast for the immediate area that is over 48-hours prior to your departure date.

Prior to your rental, if boating conditions are not favorable and results in a small craft advisory issued by the United States Coast Guard for the Choctawhatchee Bay (generally do to lightning and or high winds), we may cancel your trip and you will receive a full refund.

Our Luxury Pontoon Boats are made for cruising the bay and stopping at local swim areas to enjoy the water. To keep our pontoon boats clean and looking new, and to avoid damage to the seats and the prop, we do not allow fishing on our boats. Sorry.

The United States Coast Guard Requires guests to be born on or before January 1988. However, if guests take a boating certificate at www.boat-ed.com guests are allowed to operate a boat if they are 28 years of age or older.
